R.W. Patrick account book, 1846-1850.

Daily register of R. W. Patrick, Deputy Clerk of Court of the town of Clinton in East Feliciana Parish, Louisiana. Entries record docket numbers, charges, and the payment of fees for licenses for parish, district and probate court cases; expenditures for the court house; school fund payments; and accounts of wages and loans. Also contained is a record of accounts (1850) of subscribers to the PATRIOT, and cash paid to J. A. Alspaugh.

Reuben Woodworth Patrick was a resident of Clinton, La., where he was deputy clerk of court. He married Emeline Draughton, and they had at least three children: Robert Draughton, Philander Patrick, and Mary. Robert D. Patrick fought in the Civil War as a private in the Louisiana Volunteers under Gen. John Hunt Morgan. Mary married James E. Nash, and they had at least one child, Jay. They lived at Nash Plantation, near Clinton. Reuben Patrick died in 1855 while on a business trip to St. Louis. ...
